Regular Season Round 17: Cernusco - Snaiperis 66-84

There was no surprise when 16th ranked ItalianCernusco (5-3) lost to leader Lithuanian Snaiperis (8-0) 66-84 on Friday. The game without a history. Snaiperis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Snaiperis shot 32 for 45 from the free-throw line, while Cernusco only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Snaiperis forced 22 Cernusco turnovers and outrebounded them 49-32 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Snaiperis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Joris Makarevicius nailed 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Vainius Vabalas accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds. Jacopo Bosi came up with 18 points and Andrea Santagada added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Cernusco in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Snaiperis . They moved-up to second place, which they share with Jugla. Loser Cernusco dropped to the twenty first position with three games lost. They share it with 6 other teams.
